Mixing It UpEight weeks flew by, & today was my last tennis lesson. For the past couple of weeks (one of which I missed for Rogers Cup =P) we've been playing doubles matches, & this week we even combined our class with the juniors' & played a mini-tournament. After some random drawing I was paired with this lil girl (she was about 7 or 8) to play against another two young'uns, lol. We won (go figure), & moved on to the semis after yet more random drawing between the winners. This time I was paired with a girl in my own class, & thanks to my absolutely awful serving today (I got ONE serve in xP), we lost to this very cute lil boy (I think he was no older than 6) & his "soccer mom" partner. xD I ended up staying behind to watch the final & after that was over, our instructor gathered us in the corner of the gym & gave the final eight (that would include me =P) prizes. After what felt like the millionth toss (one that me & my partner FINALLY won), I got a ski cap. =D I was very touched by the fact that our instructor had the heart to get us prizes, & it made me even more grateful to him as he was always very patient with us. Thanks to the chaos near the end though I didn't get a chance to thank him personally, but something tells me that this won't be the last time I see him (ie. he'll probably be my level 2 instructor and/or he volunteers at Rogers Cup every year so I might bump into him there)...
I've made a couple of friends during these two months, & we've more or less made a pact to take the level 2 course together come September (I've already signed up). Hopefully we'll all get in 'cause I've really had a lot of fun with them. Even I don't, I'm still looking forward to learning more advanced techniques & meeting new people. For the time being I guess I'll go to the tennis court just around the corner of my house & hit some balls until class begins in a month...=P
P.S. I also signed up for cooking classes...ya that's right, I'm
finally doing it!! I pray to God it won't be all old ladies, lol. I'm already expecting myself to be only guy there...xD
