Bouncy, Bouncy

(That's my Feder-bear, hehe)
So today was my very first tennis lesson. It was, to say the least, a lot of fun. I didn't know what to expect going in (it's one of those Markham summer community programs), I just thought it'd be a good idea to play some sports, get some exercise in for a couple of months. I knew better to sign up for indoor as opposed to outdoors, considering how vigorous tennis is, I'd hate to do it in the sun, at noon, in the stab middle of summer. xP I mean, I was all wet after class today, despite being in a fully air-conditioned/at-times-too-cold gymnasium. So definitely made a good choice there.
Anyway, as expected, I suck, lol. Well, I wasn't totally horrible, but I'm still as athletically challenged as I used to be. And I have no problem admitting that. =P That good thing is that I'm now physically a lot stronger & FAR MORE mobile, so I was able to chase a lot of balls down; I just have bad timing, that's all. I like how my coach (who's British!!) kept telling me to "hit through the shot". Trust me, I'd like to, but it's hard when I'm sliding into your balls, lol (btw, thank you Wii Fit for improving my balance =P). This class is surprisingly demanding though...at first I really was expecting to just hit some balls with a fellow classmate & call it an hour. xP Instead, we're actually going to learn most of the shots in the tennis repertoire (even the overhead serve...I was thinking we'd only do underhand). I'm looking forward to next week's class already...but this time, I'll make sure I hit some balls & get some practice before going in to humiliate myself again, lol. Ow my arm...
P.S. Since you guys seem to be quite interested in the shrooms (lol), I happened to have chronicled the growth of the biggest one we have in the yard. Enjoy. =P

Cha Cha Cha!
My
most favouritest game ever is coming to the Wii!!
<screams hysterically> xD
Oh, where do I even begin. I'm sure those who went to high school with me will remember what a great time we had with Samba de Amigo. Along with that weird ass Japanese party game (I never knew the name), much time & (too much) money were spent at the arcade playing ourselves silly. This one, in particular, struck a chord (no pun intended) 'cause we were all music students & had (self-proclaimed) good sense of rhythm. Just great memories associated with the game...not to mention it really did have good music & at the time was revolutionary with its motion-sensitive maracas controllers. I guess as the years went by & other rhythm games (like Guitar Hero & Rock Band) came into the picture, I've pushed Samba de Amigo aside & never really thought about it...but now, I can only remember how much fun I've had with it, every single time. So this better not disappoint!!

Any Other World
One may wonder why this has become more of a photoblog lately...either there are no updates for weeks, or there'd be out-of-the-blue posts showing pictures of miscellaneous objects. Well, the truth is, for the past year & a half, my life has been at a standstill - nothing truly exciting ever happens, with the exception of maybe two or three events. Right now, for instance, I'm most excited about Summerlicious (we're going to
Bymark!! =D) & Rogers Cup (Roger!! *o*)...not exactly the kind of stuff that belongs in a family newsletter. I'm not complaining though. Like Charles Dickens once famously wrote, "It's the best of times, it's the worst of times"...after having to work my hardest to keep my family on its feet, I'm glad things have more or less returned to how they used to be, & in some ways, become even better than before. Life is finally at peace & I no longer have to worry about further obstacles ahead (for now, anyway). Yet at the same time, I can't help but think maybe it's time to shake things up a lil. I'm not out to create unnecessary drama, obviously (I've had enough of that in this quarter of a century I've lived on Earth), but I just wish that maybe somehow, a person or happenstance can come in & change the existential numbness that I'm feeling right now.
I'm sure I'll wish things were simple again once drama makes its trip home to bite me in the ass...but as humans, we tend to always want what we don't have, right??

On The Line
Just in time for
Wimbledon, I present to you my latest blog layout, featuring the ever so gorgeous Maria Sharapova. <3 It's no secret that I've loved her for years, & I've only grown to become more fond of her as time goes by. Her physical beauty aside, her fighting spirit on the tennis court is what I find most attractive about her. Her dedication to the sport & determination to achieve have certainly inspired me to improve in sectors of my own life. In the next two weeks I'll no doubt be cheering for her to win a 2nd Wimbledon title (which would also be her 2nd Slam title of the year); consider this layout a gesture of support from a long time fan. That, & she's just good to look at, lol.
(This layout didn't take too long, just a couple of hours, would've been even shorter if someone didn't decide to call & rant about nothing...<rolls eyes> I also spent most of the time deciding what orientation to use/how to incoporate the picture seamlessly...here's a screenshot of my Photoshop at work =P Oh & I also updated the music player's playlist...haven't changed the songs since I added the feature, pretty much, lol)

Teamgeist
So, in honour of
Euro 2008, I took a Germany tee that I bought a year or two ago out of my closet & thought I might wear it one of these days (supposedly yesterday, unfortunately they lost =\). But since it doesn't fit me so well (despite it being a size small), I decided to put in onto the next best thing...

That's right, I gave my buddy cushion Pauly (it's a he!!) a shirt change. xD
Auf geht's Deutschland!!

Collision Course
Till this day, I still wonder from time to time what would happen if we were to bump into each other on the streets (actually, we have; you just didn't see me). I've dreamt about it quite a few times, each ending with me running the other way as soon as I saw you approach. But the part that bothers me the most is that I am, in fact, curious to see how YOU would react. Would you be elated?? Angry?? Or just merely indifferent?? And what would you say to me?? Would this lead to a revival of our quasi-friendship??
Turns out, I still care. But that's probably 'cause I like to dwell on things that didn't have closure.

By Any Other Name
Took these in the backyard earlier during lunch time...to be honest I'm not even exactly sure they're roses (not a botanist here =P), but I just love how there's a drop of dew lodged right between the petals in the first pic...
