So I had my first real "scream in agony" run-in with my Xbox tonight. I guess I should consider myself lucky, considering it's been more than a month of (relatively) smooth sailing...anyway, I was playing
Poker Smash & was heading towards a new high score by a large margin (from 50000+ up to 270,000+). I was about to die & obviously I was frantically trying to clear as many blocks as possible while also RT-ing to slow the flow down (you really need to have played the game to know what I'm talking about, lol). And that's when it happened - MY XBOX FROZE. My controller wouldn't stop vibrating & all I could do was to sit there & stare at the screen with my mouth wide open. It hit me right away that MY SCORES DON'T SAVE UNLESS THERE'S AN OFFICIAL GAMEOVER!! Freaked out but given no other choice, I restarted my Xbox, ran the game again, & much to my horror my score really didn't save...ToT I was left with the same amount of "money" I had before & my 20-minute of gameplay was wasted...ToT Well, not totally wasted, I suppose, since achievements save immediately upon unlocking (I got 2 in that game) so I still managed to get something out of it. But still, WHAT A PISS OFF. I tried playing it again afterwards but I just couldn't get past what had happened...<sigh> In fact I don't think I'll be able to play for the next few days, since this is gonna take me a while to get over (lol)...guess I'll go back to DMC for now.
Damn you Microsoft!!

No Pandora
Went down to the basement just now to grab some clean underwear from the laundry room...& just as I was about to go up the stairs, I noticed a silver box inside a bookcase, hidden beneath a pile of junk. It was a box that I had forgotten about, but when I saw it, I was reminded of what it carried & possibly why I'd blocked its existence. It was a box that I held dear during my younger years, a box that contained mementos from my closest friends in high school - Xmas grams, Xmas cards, birthday cards, stickie pics (oh dear Lord xD), secret notes, even some presents that managed to fit themselves into that overcrowded metallic casing. For a second there I dreaded opening it, as I knew it might unleash some demons that I had tried so hard to subdue over the years. But in the end, I opened it...
And I was surprised. Surprised by the sheer volume of articles inside, & by the amount of people who cared about me dearly during those five years of my life. I've always considered my high school years life-changing, a period where I had to bring out the best in me to fight through the worst of times. Having seen what was inside this box though, made me realize that maybe it wasn't so bad after all. At least there was a handful of people who stood by me rain or shine, & for that I'm forever grateful. Thank you once again, wherever you are. I dare not dream to be so privileged ever again, but just knowing that at one point in time I had the world behind me is enough to keep me going.
I put the box back where it belongs, hidden beneath a pile of junk inside a bookcase. Some things are meant to stay exactly where you found them.

A Decade Of Song
HOT-NESS...

(CD+DVD covers for Ayu's new/10th anniversary single Mirrorcle World)
I don't think I've been this excited about an Ayu single in a while (probably since HEAVEN). First of all, "Mirror" has got to be one of my (if not THE) favourite intros/preludes/interludes ever featured on an Ayu album, & when I found out it was recorded into a full song, I was beyond exhilarated. And having now heard the full version, I can only say I love it more than I did before (which I didn't think was possible =P). Not to mention that Ayu has decided to re-re-record (yes this is the 3rd time, lol) two of her very first singles "YOU" & "Depend on you" & include them on here (for some reason though, her REAL debut single "poker face" is never heard of since...well, her first album xP). "Depend on you", especially, is my favourite early Ayu track AND ONE THAT TURNED ME INTO A FAN. AHHHHH GOODNESS OVERLOAD!!!!!
Just keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get the first press editions (yes I ordered both versions...not a surprise now, is it?? =P)...
