Check out my "beautiful" drawing of how a class I CAP-dependent promoter works...had to do it to stay awake AND make myself learn the stupid damn positions (ugh)...

[Class I CAP-dependent Promoter]

...heh, my geekiness sure shines during midterm season. =P

Girls On Top

Anxiously waiting for DC's best album to come out this week (even though I just had it downloaded today =P)...unfortunately, due to my packed schedule, I probably won't be able to grab it until Friday. =\ I'm definitely getting the DualDisc which has some of their videos (including "Say My Name"!! O_O No "Bills, Bills, Bills" though...gah I can never be satisfied can I) on the DVD side. Now I don't have to order it from Japan...=P
The funny thing is that while the album is titled #1's, only 4 of the songs ("Bills, Bills, Bills", "Say My Name", "Independent Women Part I", "Bootylicious") actually went #1 on the
Billboard charts. Then again, since they didn't specify, they could've meant #1 of anything. =P Can't say it's false advertisement YET...
The new songs are alright. "Stand Up For Love" is a typical poppy ballad that's almost wrong for DC to sing...but it's nice anyway. "Feel The Same Way I Do" is weird & has this awkward dialogue at the end that cracked me up. xP As for Beyonce's solo track "Check On It" (yes some people are bitching that Kelly & Michelle didn't get their chance to shine solo...but the hell I care), it's not that great, but it's catchy & repetitive so I'm sure it'll become a hit regardless (not to mention it's the theme song of The Pink Panther).
"Say My Name"¹ is still my favourite DC song, followed closely by "Jumpin', Jumpin'" - just too hot of a dance track. =P Their new stuff still don't amuse me but I shall miss them!!
¹: This album has the video mix though...which made me a lil uneasy since I'm too used to the full version on The Writing's On The Wall...=\

Spontaneous Reaction
I love my Fridays, I really do. At first it didn't seem like a great idea to spend the last day of the school week on a full day lab from 10 to 5. But as it turns out, it's actually a lot of fun. All we ever do is pipetting, centrifuging, loading gels, & then some more pipetting, centrifuging, & loading gels...with such mundanity at hand, Sip, Roop, & I have long decided to spice things up by constantly bickering & dissing each other. Here & there we'd make stupid mistakes that we just laugh ourselves silly over. Today, for example, by pouring the wrong buffer into bleach, Sip successfully made cyanide gas. Instead of freaking out, I calmly asked him if he did what I thought he did, & then said, "You know, the bleach is bubbling." xD Our TA Ivan is also jokes. He always picks on Sip & I & has nicknamed us "clowns" & "smartasses" 'cause we're such loud mouths. =P Today he taught us how to make a "mini bomb" by putting dry ice into a microfuge tube & then throwing it into the garbage. Ironically enough, it went off (it takes time for enough carbon dioxide to build up to blow the lid open) when Ivan himself was dumping garbage. I laughed till I cried. xD
Now I kinda wish this was a full year lab. But we've still got more than half of the course to go, so I guess I'll just make the best time out of those days...;)
P.S. We're also on a rotating schedule for getting Timbits for the group, & today, it was my turn. And with my luck, I was given the 20 tiny donuts IN A SMALL FRIGGIN' BAG instead of a box. I was obviously made fun of when I got back to the lab. So much for me being nice. =P

Powerhouse
Took a much needed walk around the neighbourhood after I got home from the salon...come to think of it, I haven't done that since I first moved here a year ago. The area has gotten a lot busier & livelier since then...just like my life. This week, especially, I really got to see how some people's well-being depends on MY well-being, urging me to stand even stronger & taller than before. I honestly don't mind being the one who drives everyone with happiness & energy...but you gotta at least give me time to get charged up. =P

Insatiable Appetite
The MCAT scores are out...got the marks that med schools want, but didn't get the marks that I want.
Now what??

For the first time in my life, I'm gonna let myself live in denial. I'm just gonna pretend the last few days didn't happen. I can't let it sink in...I really can't. It's just too painful.
I'm still holding onto that last glimpse of hope. Let me have it. Please.
EDIT:"I'd like to believe that years later, I'll get an e-mail or call from you, or even bump into you on the streets. Thank you for keeping that fantasy alive. I honestly wish you the best, & wish you all the happiness that you've ever wished for."

What disheartening news...my heart seriously skipped a beat when I heard it. I feel so powerless...I wish there was more I could do to help you through this. And I wish I were there so you didn't have to be alone when it happened. Ahhhhh I hate it when I feel this way. But the worst part of it all, is that this didn't come to me as a shock...I actually saw it coming yet was completely incapable of stopping it...
I'm so worried. =\ Stay strong, my friend.
EDIT: And now I want to find her for you & tell her everything...even though I once swore that I'd never want to see or talk to her again.

Out Of This World
Entertainment Weekly has recently made a list of the top 15 butt-kickin' babes in movies, & as I was going down the list, my heart was secretly cheering for a certain someone to be
#1...
AND I WAS RIGHT!! Boy, the Alien series is only like, my favourite movie series EVER. xD In fact I just rewatched Aliens on late night TV last Saturday, & my God I was amazed once again. The climax was of course when Ripley kicked the alien queen's ass & smacked her silly wearing that robotic gear. It's war, baby!!
I'm not so sure about the 5th movie though...granted I did enjoy (somewhat) Alien: Resurrection, but it was nothing compared to the first two. And I refused to watch AVP 'cause I KNEW it'd ruin it for me. Ugh I still can't believe they made that movie...& to put the acid-blooded against the Predators?? COME ON NOW...that's like pitting crème brûlée against jello. Sheesh.
P.S. I also guessed #2 right...yet another favourite of mine. Go Uma!!

Calling For Jack
I almost spat my drink out when I saw
these in a magazine ad few days ago. I say almost, because I wasn't drinking anything. But I would've if I were.
Seriously, no one should be punished by having to use/wear one of these. Can you imagine getting it as a Xmas present from a loved one?? That expression alone would be priceless. Not to mention the humiliation when putting it on.
Hey, wait a minute...there's an idea...<evil grin>

"You Bastard!"
TOO FRIGGIN' COOL!!!!! A good friend of mine from high school, whom I thought I've lost forever as a result of ICQ's demise, has found me on Friendster & messaged me...WOOHOO!! Those of you who know him will probably understand why I'm so excited...it's quite the honour when the Hermit himself reaches out to you on his own will, lol.
...I guess this means I'll have to retract my earlier statement claiming that Friendster is useless. I suppose there's at least SOME use to it (aside from getting to look at pictures of people from your past & laugh about how sad they are now =P). <rolls eyes>
But really, just few days ago I was trying to find some of my old classmates in HK through Friendster...apparently there are 3
Raimondi sites (that I know of), & even though I've spent 6 years in that school, I know NONE of the ppl listed...O_o Not to mention some of them were girls...since when did Raimondi go co-ed??
