Effective Treatment
Alright, that's it, I've had it with y'all, stupid viruses. If I can recall bacteria names like Streptococcus pneumoniae at the top of my head, there is no reason why I can't remember these much simpler & shorter virus names. So, to force myself to learn them, I have erased everything (well, almost everything) off my "white" board & filled it with all kinds of viruses that I need to know for my midterm (in the alarming, eye-stinging RED). =P Geek power to da max...

[Check out that CSI magazine ad behind!]
[Well, I'll at least remember Arenaviridae, lol]

P.S. Hehe you can also see the silly snapshots that BJ & Mick gave me for birthday...=)

Lick It
A taste of what it's like to live in the fridge...
(well actually, it's even colder out; by the way that's our neighbours' pipe, not ours, hehe)

Case Closed
Okay, as much as I am cramming my biochem lab report at the moment, I still feel the need to explain my previous post first. Seems like the whole world thinks I'm about to crack & I'm on my way to self-destruction. Or I've lost myself. Or whatever shitty situation they think I'm in.
No, you dumbasses. READ BETWEEN THE LINES for crying out loud, lol. I've found new faith in love, that's what it is. More precisely, I've turned from a cynic into a sap (according to Cars, & I agree). So there you have it. Now leave me alone. =P

Adaptation
You know, all your life, you grow to develop all these rules & principles that you live by...you just can't imagine (or would never bother to imagine) what life would be without them. Then this one person comes along & shatters your belief system, rips your rule book apart, changes your point of view; making you realize that what you held on to before hindered more than it guided. That sometimes, it is worth a try.
It's scary, very scary...but at the same time, it feels nice to be shaken to your very core.

Figure Of Speech
"Hi mom...§Ú¤µ¤é¤²µó§r"
Only I would talk to my parents like that, in a "it's so casual I did not just use a swear word" tone. And only my parents, upon hearing it, wouldn't even twitch an eyebrow, but instead go "awww...are you okay??"
...I just love how cool they are. xD
Stupid wound is still bleeding once in a while. It's starting to scare me. Will the flesh ever grow back?? O_O

"VISA, MasterCard, or AMEX?"
It was a night well-spent.
So, upon Mick's invitation, I joined her in volunteering for picking up donation calls at the Canadian Red Cross. Tonight we had the tsunami relief special on the Chinese TV station, hence all the calls were from Chinese living across Canada. At first it was quite scary, since I never did something like this before, but once I got the hang of it, it wasn't so bad. Much to my delight everyone who called in was very nice, some even initiated convo with me (which, for some reason, bugged Mick...I'm sorry if my voice is charming & SEXAY...=P)...that made things a lil bit easier, & by the 5th or 6th call I was already getting the hang of it. I spoke Cantonese throughout, with only one call I did in English, & it was only because I thought the guy didn't speak Cantonese & he thought I didn't...but in the end we realized we both made a bad assumption. =P Anyway, highest single donation for me was $1000 from a very generous man, while the majority donated $100. It touched me how generous these people were, & here I'd like to say, GOOD FOR YOU & THANK YOU!!
I got quite a few out-of-towners, with Vancouver at the top of the list. I also got people from Winnipeg, Calgary, Quebec, & some unknown town in Nova Scotia. Clinton, BC was probably the farthest city I got. It was from a man who didn't know his address. But that's okay, I did manage to get his phone number, so someone can follow up on his tax receipt if needed...
I'm so glad I got to do this tonight because as soon as I heard about the disaster, I wanted to something about it, yet I never knew how & didn't have the time to. So I donated some money, though I couldn't help but feel that was inadequate. Thankfully I finally got a chance to do more, & since I'm free as a bird this weekend, I agreed immediately when Mick asked me. I love how things worked out. =) I hope everyone who's reading this will do your best to try & help out in one way or another...please??
P.S. I went to the washroom like 5 friggin' times. It's my bad habit of drinking non-stop when a cup of water is placed in front of me; I just never put it down. Not to mention you do get quite thirsty from talking so much in 3 hours...
P.P.S. I ended up knowing how to distinguish between the 3 credit card types even without having the caller telling me. You always learn something, indeed. And go VISA.
P.P.P.S. My right ear is now hurting from that stupid piece of shit headphone of mine. ARGH.

Losing Streak
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!
...kill me now. ToT

[The one cover that I DIDN'T want...]

EDIT: Okay I'm a bit calmer now...this afternoon I totally flipped out as soon as I found out I got that cover. Man, a month of anticipation for this....it really ended on a sour note for me. And not to mention how much I love the album...& the DVD...=\ Right now I have my CD case (I took the CD & DVD out) laid on top of my desk hidden underneath a pile of papers. I'm not going near it. I just can't. =P
Today would've been a great day otherwise. 378 was too funny, thanks to Marissa who just wouldn't keep her comments on how bad our prof is to herself, lol. And you...just when I thought you couldn't get any cuter, you did. DAMN I'M HOOKED.

Whipped
...I'm too lazy to tell the whole story now, so let's just say that as our last thing done in 2004 (well, 2nd last...the really last thing we did was sit our asses on the couch, drinking & watching SATC while waiting for the countdown), Fu & I gave our first shot at making mango soufflé. And here are some pictures chronicling the event:

[Captions]
Top: The book tells us that using the materials started, we can make FOUR servings, each with at least an inch of the "raised" layer. Well, that turned out to be a big fat lie - we ended up with just enough to make THREE soufflés, with only ONE (the one you see in the picture, our "prototype") having the top layer. And you can see that because we didn't wrap the wax paper tight enough, the soufflé mix was leaking through the sides. So we had to put it in a bowl before placing it in the fridge (it was my idea, lol).
Middle: The finished product!! By the time we got to chill the soufflés, it was already 10. So given the 3 to 4 hour fridge time, we actually made the dessert in 2004 & ate it in 2005, hehe.
Bottom: ...our "prototype" compared to the one in the book. Visually, I think we get a 6, lol. Taste-wise, it was just heavenly (well, aside from the raw mango bits...those were nasty)...=)
P.S. Keith also made me crème brûlée beforehand, which again tasted orgasmic (it was so good, I finished it up by licking the ramekin, heh heh =P). Thanks bud!!
